Our client is a leading digital media company. They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Non\-linear & Motion Graphics Editor Lead.
Job Overview
As the Team Lead, Non\-linear & Motion Graphics Editor, you will serve as a senior\-level creative professional responsible for overseeing the post\-production and motion graphics unit of CBI News, a 24\-hour news station. You will lead a team of editors and graphic designers in delivering high\-quality video edits, visual storytelling elements, motion graphics, and broadcast\-ready content for daily news bulletins, breaking news coverage, investigative reports, documentaries, and special programming.
Your role requires advanced expertise in non\-linear editing, strong creative leadership, deep understanding of newsroom workflows, and the ability to manage multiple fast paced deliverables under tight deadlines. You will ensure that all edited content and motion graphics meet the stationâs technical standards, editorial tone, and brand identity.

Your primary responsibilities will cover, but will not be limited to:
Team Leadership & Supervision
⢠Lead and supervise the non\-linear editing and motion graphics team to ensure timely and high\-quality output.
⢠Assign daily editing and graphics tasks based on newsroom priorities and production schedules.
⢠Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to editors and motion designers.
⢠Promote a collaborative, innovative, and deadline\-driven work culture within the post\-production unit.
⢠Coordinate shift schedules to support the demands of a 24\-hour news operation.
Nonlinear Video Editing & Post\-Production Oversight
⢠Oversee the editing of news packages, promos, features, investigative reports, and documentary segments.
⢠Ensure video edits are clean, accurate, engaging, and aligned with editorial intent.
⢠Review final edits for pacing, continuity, audio balance, and broadcast readiness before transmission.
⢠Support rapid turnaround editing during breaking news and live event coverage.
⢠Maintain consistency in editing style across all station programming.
Motion Graphics & Visual Storytelling
⢠Lead the creation of high\-impact motion graphics, animations, lower\-thirds, explainers, and program branding elements.
⢠Ensure graphics are visually compelling, accurate, and aligned with the stationâs identity and style guide.
⢠Develop templates and reusable graphic packages to improve production efficiency.
⢠Collaborate with newsroom teams to design visuals that enhance complex storytelling.
⢠Ensure graphics are optimised for both television broadcast and digital platforms.
Editorial Collaboration & Newsroom Support
⢠Work closely with producers, reporters, program editors, and assignment desks to understand story requirements.
⢠Participate in editorial planning meetings to anticipate graphics and post\-production needs.
⢠Provide creative input on how video editing and motion design can strengthen storytelling impact.
⢠Ensure quick response to last\-minute editorial changes, corrections, or updates.
Technical Standards & Quality Assurance
⢠Ensure all edited content meets broadcast technical specifications (resolution, format, audio levels, frame rates).
⢠Monitor compliance with station workflows for file naming, archiving, and content delivery.
⢠Troubleshoot post\-production technical issues and escalate complex problems when needed.
⢠Maintain high standards for colour grading, sound sync, transitions, and visual effects.
Workflow Management & Process Improvement
⢠Establish efficient editing pipelines to meet the constant demands of CBI Newsâ 24\-hour newsroom.
⢠Implement best practices for version control, project handovers, and storage management.
⢠Introduce new tools, technologies, and editing techniques to improve output and efficiency.
⢠Coordinate with IT and engineering teams to ensure optimal performance of editing suites and systems.
Content Delivery & Multi\-Platform Adaptation
⢠Ensure edited content is delivered promptly for scheduled bulletins, live inserts, and digital publishing.
⢠Adapt news content into shorter formats for social media, web, and mobile audiences.
⢠Support the creation of promotional teasers and station marketing content when required.
⢠Maintain consistency in visual storytelling across broadcast and digital channels.
Required Skills and Qualifications
⢠Degree: BSc/HND in Fine Arts, Creative Arts, Theatre Arts (Film/Video Production), Mass Communication, or Information Technology or its equivalent
⢠Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Non\-Linear Editing (NLE) software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve) and Motion Graphics software (Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
⢠Experience: Over 8 years of experience in motion graphics and video editing, with four years previous team\-lead experience.
⢠Design & Storytelling: A strong portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for design, typography, aesthetics, and pacing.
⢠Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, organization, and project management skills.
