Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight within a dynamic private hospital environment in Enugu. This role is best suited for a proactive leader with extensive nursing experience, strong managerial acumen, and a passion for mentoring healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the nursing team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  
  

• Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to formulate and review nursing protocols and care delivery standards.
  
  

• Mentor and coach nursing staff to support professional development and enforce best practices.
  
  

• Set and track SMART departmental goals; foster accountability and clinical excellence.
  
  

• Conduct regular performance reviews and promote a merit-based culture.
  
  

• Ensure compliance with national regulatory requirements and institutional guidelines.
  
  

• Drive the adoption of contemporary nursing practices and healthcare technologies.
  
  

• Monitor patient outcomes and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  
  

• Manage departmental budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation.
  
  

• Foster a positive and collaborative work culture through effective communication and conflict resolution.
  
  

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure proper record-keeping of nursing activities and patient care.
  
  

Qualifications and Experience

• 10-15 years of post-qualification experience in a hospital environment.
  
  

• Minimum of 5 years in a senior nursing leadership role (preferably in a private hospital).
  
  

• Currently employed within a private healthcare facility.
  
  

• Valid practicing license with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  
  

• Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS.
  
  

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  
  

• Working knowledge of Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) is an added advantage.
