OPERATIONS ENGINEER JOB BRIEF

Position Title: Operations Engineer

Qualification: Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation & Control Engineering

Job Description:

l  Establish technical project requirements by carrying out a detailed study of project documents.

l  Identify risks and take preventive actions so that critical milestones are achieved.

l  Development on various platforms of PLC, SCADA, and DCS.

l  Conduct Site Survey/FAT/Pre-Commissioning/Commissioning/Startup/Performance Test. 

l  Prepare and manage preventive maintenance plans of instruments and control systems.

l  Provide instrument and control systems maintenance and design support for routine operation of process units

l  Metering System Design in accordance with ISO, API, AGA and NUPRC guidelines

l  Engineering Design Review.

l  Instrument Engineering & Simulation.

l  Excellent knowledge of DCS / Safety / PLC / Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications.

l  Project Planning, Scheduling, and Controls.

l  Knowledge of codes, standards, and recommended practices relating to the design of process instruments and associated equipment/devices.

l  Excellent Knowledge of Metering System Engineering design, Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning.

l  Troubleshooting and Maintenance of field instruments.

l  Leads commissioning team for Site Acceptance Test of Installed Flow meters, LACT Units and associated instruments.

l  Support to business development in preparation of ITT documentation

l  Ensure that all deliverables and closed-out (completion) reports are timely prepared according to schedule.

l  Responsible for ensuring that the HSE Management System is developed and established on the Project and that appropriate resources are in place to properly facilitate its implementation.

l  Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation & Control Engineering with at least 5-10 years experience in detailed engineering and design of Instrumentation & Control works for Oil & Gas projects  in similar position

l  Fully familiar with relevant international codes, standards and recommended practices such as ISA, NEC, NFPA, BS API, IEC,etc

l  Should have hands on training of Emerson, Schneider and Java applications. Must have training and certification from these OEMs

l  Working knowledge of the upstream Nigerian Oil industry Standards preferred

Pay range – 500,000-800,000 (negotiable)
