The Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing the Bank’s loan portfolio to ensure
optimal portfolio quality, strong repayment performance, and effective
management of credit risks.
· Lead and oversee the
monitoring of the Bank's loan portfolio, ensuring continuous assessment of
portfolio quality, repayment performance, delinquency, and overall portfolio
health across all lending segments (SME, Digital Lending, Public
Sector/Deducted-at-Source, and other product lines).
· Analyze portfolio trends
and performance indicators to identify early warning signals, emerging risks,
concentration risks, and deteriorating accounts, and recommend appropriate
corrective actions.
· Conduct vintage and cohort
analysis to track loan performance by disbursement period, identifying
underwriting quality drift and informing credit policy adjustments.
· Supervise the preparation
of accurate and timely portfolio reports, dashboards, and management insights
for senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
· Lead the review and
analysis of portfolio quality metrics, including PAR, NPLs, delinquency rates,
collection performance, loan aging, write-offs, and recoveries.
· Coordinate the monitoring
of loan exposures and repayment behavior, ensuring that potential problem
accounts are identified and escalated promptly to recovery in line with defined
handover thresholds and criteria.
· Oversee monitoring of
restructured, rescheduled, and forborne loans, ensuring appropriate tracking
distinct from standard delinquency reporting.
· Provide strategic
recommendations to improve portfolio performance and asset quality, working
closely with Credit, Risk, Recovery, Finance, Operations, and other relevant
functions.
· Lead and manage the
Portfolio Management team, including assigning responsibilities, monitoring
performance, providing coaching, and ensuring achievement of team objectives.
· Develop and improve
portfolio monitoring processes, controls, dashboards, and reporting tools to
enhance portfolio visibility, risk identification, and decision-making.
· Investigate significant
portfolio exceptions, deteriorating trends, and operational issues, ensuring
appropriate root-cause analysis, escalation, and follow-up actions.
· Ensure compliance with
approved lending policies, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and
portfolio management standards, escalating material breaches and risks
appropriately.
· Support timely and
accurate portfolio input into statutory and regulatory returns, including CBN
prudential reporting requirements.
· Coordinate with Finance
and Risk on IFRS 9/ECL staging classification, ensuring portfolio data
appropriately supports impairment assessment and provisioning.
· Monitor collateral and
security coverage on secured lending exposures, ensuring valuations remain
current and coverage ratios are tracked and reported.
· Support management in
portfolio planning and forecasting, providing data-driven insights on portfolio
growth, risk exposure, expected performance, and emerging challenges.
· Ensure the accuracy,
integrity, and completeness of portfolio data, including reconciliation between
the core banking/loan management system and BI reporting outputs, working with
relevant teams to resolve discrepancies.
· Prepare and compile
portfolio performance analysis, key risk trends, and recommended actions to
support the Head of Portfolio Management's presentations at portfolio review
meetings and credit/risk committees, attending as required to provide
supporting detail.
· Participate in portfolio
review meetings and credit/risk committees, presenting portfolio performance,
key risks, trends, and recommended actions.
