Summary

The primary objective of this role is to manage the procurement of essential construction materials within the Maiduguri region. The position focuses on securing high-quality resources such as cement, iron, sand, granite, and fittings from a diverse supplier base to ensure uninterrupted project progress. By maintaining strict quality control and timely delivery standards, the role plays a critical part in preventing site delays and safeguarding project integrity.

Responsibilities

Solicit and compare pricing for key construction materials including cement, iron, sand, granite, and fittings from a minimum of three different suppliers in Maiduguri.
Conduct negotiations to secure optimal terms and execute purchases only after receiving formal approval.
Coordinate logistics to guarantee the timely arrival of materials at the construction site, ensuring that work crews are never idle due to supply shortages.
Obtain and file all necessary documentation, including receipts and waybills, to maintain accurate procurement records.
Perform rigorous quality inspections to verify that materials meet specifications, specifically screening for counterfeit cement and ensuring iron bars are of the correct size.
