Job Title: Procurement & Logistics Officer (Heavy Fleet & Construction)

Location: Project Site (Oyo / Kwara Axis) – Onsite Residential

Sector: Premium Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Construction Services

Reporting To: Project Manager / Operations Lead



Job Purpose

The Procurement & Logistics Officer will be responsible for end-to-end procurement planning, material sourcing, and localized supply chain management. A critical component of this role is heavy fleet coordination and precise logistics accounting to ensure zero material delays and maximum cost efficiency across construction operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fleet Coordination & Logistics Management



  • Manage and dispatch heavy-duty fleet operations, with a heavy focus on diesel tankers and tipper trucks.


  • Optimize vehicle turnaround times for critical material deliveries to prevent site downtime.


  • Supervise logistics tracking, route efficiency, and driver scheduling.


2. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement



  • Source and procure high-quality construction materials (aggregates, cement, sand, steel, etc.) and project equipment.


  • Leverage deep knowledge of the Southwest Nigerian construction market to secure the best vendor prices and reliable supply chains.


  • Handle vendor onboarding, evaluate performance, and lead commercial negotiations to optimize procurement budgets.


  • Coordinate equipment hiring, parts replacement, and purchasing processes.


3. Logistics Accounting & Cost Control



  • Strictly track and audit diesel consumption per equipment to identify discrepancies and prevent fuel leakages/theft.


  • Monitor procurement budgets, track delivery workflows, and manage inventory control for spare parts and onsite fuel reserves.


  • Maintain flawless, up-to-date procurement documentation, delivery notes, and cost-efficiency records.







Requirements




  • Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated procurement and logistics experience strictly within civil engineering, road construction, or heavy infrastructure projects.


  • Fleet & Material Expertise: Proven track record managing tippers/tankers and sourcing bulk construction materials (sand, aggregates, cement) within Southwest Nigeria.


  • Accounting Skills: Strong analytical ability to handle precise fuel/diesel tracking and inventory auditing.


  • Education: Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.


  • Physical & Age Demands: Male candidate, highly energetic and physically fit for constant on-site material inspection and vehicle monitoring.


  • Timeline: Ability to relocate and resume on-site within 4–6 weeks.
