Job Description - Quantity Surveyor

Summary

The Quantity Surveyor plays a vital role in overseeing the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. This position is dedicated to controlling project expenditures, generating accurate material cost projections, and tracking key financial indicators to ensure fiscal stability and efficiency throughout the building lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop initial cost estimates for materials, prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and formulate budget forecasts.
  • Assess and analyze contractor bids, commercial quotations, and project proposals.
  • Conduct regular site valuations and validate payment applications for work that has been completed.
  • Track on-site spending patterns and identify any deviations from the budget or potential cost overruns.
  • Support the finalization of project accounts and participate in post-completion financial audits.
