We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Real Estate and Construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of cost estimation, cost control, and quantity surveying for our projects.
This role requires a strong background in the real estate and construction industry, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and the necessary educational qualifications.
Responsibilities
Conduct accurate and detailed cost estimation for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs.
Prepare bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documents in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
Perform cost control activities, monitor project budgets, and track expenses to ensure adherence to financial guidelines and project profitability.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop cost-effective solutions and value engineering options.
Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
Analyze and review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to identify potential risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.
Conduct regular site visits, progress inspections, and measurements to accurately assess work done and prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
Provide expert advice and guidance on cost-related matters, variations, claims, and contractual disputes to support decision-making processes.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quantity surveying, cost estimation, and cost control in the real estate and construction sector.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement standardized procedures, templates, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in quantity surveying activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the real estate and construction industry.
Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation techniques, and cost control methodologies.
Proficiency in using industry-specific software and tools such as AutoCAD, CostX, or similar quantity surveying software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Sound understanding of contractual and legal principles related to quantity surveying and construction contracts.
Professional certifications or affiliations such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent are preferred.
Proven track record of successfully managing cost estimation, cost control, and quantity surveying activities for complex construction projects.
