Radiographer

Job Summary

The Radiographer is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations using X-rays and other radiographic modalities. The role involves ensuring patient safety, producing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis, and maintaining compliance with radiation protection standards.

Main Duties

l Prepare and position patients for radiographic procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.

l Operate radiographic equipment to produce clear and accurate diagnostic images.

l Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure to patients and staff.

l Monitor patients during procedures and provide reassurance.

l Evaluate images for technical quality and repeat if necessary.

l Assist radiologists and physicians in specialized imaging and interventional procedures.

l Maintain accurate documentation of patient data and imaging logs.

l Ensure regular maintenance, calibration, and cleaning of radiographic equipment.

l Manage radiographic supplies and report equipment faults.

l Comply with infection control, safety, and professional regulatory standards.

l Participate in professional development activities and training.

Requirements

Requirements

l Minimum 3 years clinical experience in radiography or related field.

l Bachelor’s degree in Radiography or Medical Imaging.

l Professional license/certification from relevant Nigerian regulatory body.

l Comprehensive knowledge of radiographic techniques and radiation safety.

l Skilled in operating X-ray and related imaging equipment.

l Good communication and patient care skills.

l Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

l Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

l Physical ability to assist and position patients.

l Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and on-call duties.

l Commitment to ethical practice and continuous learning.
