Location: North East Nigeria (Bauchi, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba)
Job Purpose
To lead and manage PalmPay's sales and market expansion activities in the North East region of Nigeria. The role involves overseeing field sales operations, driving agent and merchant acquisition, developing the regional sales team, ensuring revenue growth, and achieving KPIs aligned with PalmPay’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement regional sales strategies to drive the adoption and usage of PalmPay products.
Lead the execution of agent/merchant onboarding, terminal deployment, and digital payment product promotion in the Northeast.
Achieve sales targets across agent network growth, transaction volumes, and revenue generation.
Monitor market trends and adjust plans to maintain competitive positioning.
Team Management
Recruit, train, and manage Territory Sales Managers (TSMs), Field Sales Agents, and Relationship Officers.
Provide mentorship, regular coaching, and performance reviews to ensure team effectiveness.
Set clear KPIs for team members and enforce a performance-based culture.
Market Development
Expand PalmPay’s presence by identifying high-potential areas for network development.
Maintain strong relationships with key merchants, agents, distributors, and local partners.
Conduct periodic field visits to assess performance and support team activities.
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports and share insights with national sales leadership.
Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, regulatory standards, and ethical practices.
Resolve escalated customer or agent issues promptly and efficiently.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field. An MBA is an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, preferably in a similar Fintech.
Proven track record of leading a large, regionally distributed sales team.
Deep knowledge of the North East terrain and local market dynamics.
Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and thrive in a target-driven environment.
Proficient in MS Office tools and CRM/Sales dashboards.
