Role Overview
- The Relationship Manager (Credit Team Lead) â Corporates and Value Chain Marketing is responsible for driving business growth, portfolio expansion, and client relationship management across corporate and value chain segments.
- This role combines leadership, business development, and credit oversight, serving as the interphase between Credit Officers and the Head of Department to ensure efficiency, risk management, and profitability.
- The position requires strategic initiative, sound financial judgment, and strong professional integrity to promote our vision as a performance-driven and client-focused CBN-regulated finance house.
Key Responsibilities
A. Business Development and Market Expansion
- Develop and implement strategies to generate business from corporates, SMEs, and value chain operators in target sectors such as manufacturing, trade, logistics, FMCG, healthcare, and professional services.
- Originate and structure credit opportunities that align with the companyâs profitability and asset quality objectives.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key corporate clients, trade associations, and professional bodies to drive consistent deal flow.
- Lead product marketing, market activation, and partnership campaigns to enhance brand recognition and increase the companyâs market penetration
B. Credit and Risk Management
- Supervise, coordinate, and review the activities of Credit Officers, ensuring adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Serve as the operational bridge between Credit Officers and the Head of Department to maintain workflow efficiency and accountability.
- Ensure accurate and timely credit appraisals, credit memos, and portfolio reviews that meet professional and institutional standards.
- Promote ethical conduct, integrity, and documentation accuracy across all team activities.
- Maintain credit quality by ensuring a balance between business generation and prudent risk control.
C. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with the Treasury and Financial Services Department to provide viable borrowing leads and investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Risk Management, Operations, and Corporate Services units to streamline approval, disbursement, and monitoring processes.
- Support institutional strategy through data-backed analysis, market feedback, and client trend reporting.
D. Product Innovation and Strategic Initiatives
- Lead the development of new credit products and tailored value chain solutions targeted at key industry clusters and professional segments.
- Initiate business development drives, client events, and market engagements that align with the companyâs growth strategy.
- Contribute to the standardization of credit documentation and improvement of internal processes to promote operational consistency and efficiency.
