Head of Technology Software Engineering

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Salary Range: 1.8M - 2.3M monthly
Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days on-site, 3 days remote)
Reports To: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Role Summary

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Head of Technology to lead our Engineering division. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strategic leadership to align engineering activities with the companys overall business objectives. This role demands innovation, operational excellence, and people leadership to drive product quality, scalability, and team performance in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with company goals.

• Mentor, inspire, and manage engineers to promote accountability, innovation, and career growth.

• Foster a collaborative culture with effective cross-departmental communication.

Technical Strategy & Execution

• Define and implement the technical roadmap to support business growth.

• Champion engineering best practices, methodologies, and standards for efficiency and quality.

• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable and reliable software solutions.

Product Development & Delivery

• Partner with product management to define and prioritize product features.

• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality product releases.

• Continuously monitor and enhance product performance.

Talent Acquisition & Development

• Lead efforts to recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent.

• Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities.

• Build a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary liaison between engineering and executive leadership.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive enterprise-wide success.

• Represent the engineering team at external conferences, events, and industry platforms.

Data Privacy & Security (PII Processing)

• Design and implement secure IT systems for the collection and processing of personal data.

• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and enforce robust privacy measures.

• Safeguard secure storage, access, and transmission of sensitive data.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• MBA or equivalent business qualification is an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years in software engineering, including 6+ years in a leadership role.

• Proven success in managing large-scale software projects, preferably in SaaS or technology-driven environments.

Technical Expertise:

• Proficient in Java, Node.js, Angular, Ionic, and Postgres.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes is an advantage.

Leadership & Communication:

• Strong interpersonal and team leadership abilities.

• Strategic mindset with a track record of driving innovation and delivery.

• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
