Request for Expression of Interest - Individual Consultant

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking to engage the services of an Individual Consultant to support the implementation and monitoring of methane-reducing agricultural practices under the Nigeria for Women Project (NFWP).

The purpose of this assignment is to support the Methane Expert in collecting and analyzing data from training programs, design assessment tools, and generate actionable insights to inform scaling strategies for methane mitigation in alignment with the project’s overall goals and donor requirements.

In line with this, we invite suitably qualified and experienced individuals to express their interest in providing the required services.

Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Support the Methane Expert in collecting data on the training programs in Ogun and Taraba States.
• Design tools to assess the uptake of methane-reducing practices in consultation with the Methane expert.
• Support in analyzing the data, reporting results, and making recommendations.

Duration and Location of the Assignment

The consultancy is expected to last for 21 days.

2. A brief technical statement (maximum 2 pages) outlining understanding of the assignment and proposed approach to achieving the deliverables.
3. Financial proposal indicating the consultant’s expected professional fees.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Advanced degree in relevant field – e.g., Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, Natural Resource Management, Statistics/ Data Science or related discipline.
• Minimum of Seven (7) years of relevant professional experience in agricultural or Environmental project implementation, Monitoring and evaluation in Agricultural Research.
• Demonstrated expertise in Methane Reduction & Climate-Smart Agriculture, Data Collection and Tool Design, and Data Analysis. 
• Excellent analytical, Data analysis, quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Previous experience working with international organizations, donor-funded projects, or research institutions will be an added advantage.
