Job Description - Senior Sales Executive




Our client is a tech company that simplifies buying construction materials in Nigeria through an online platform, helping builders find quality supplies quickly and reliably. They are looking to hire a Senior Sales Executive.

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Sales Executive to lead strategic sales efforts, drive revenue growth, and build long-term client relationships. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of sales strategies, procurement processes, and the construction industry. The ideal candidate will excel in negotiation, market expansion, and client engagement, contributing significantly to the company's success.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sales Leadership



  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.

  • Identify high-value opportunities and untapped markets for business expansion.

  • Collaborate with senior management to align sales goals with organizational objectives.

2. Client Acquisition and Relationship Management



  • Build and nurture relationships with key clients in the construction sector.

  • Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions that align with the company's offerings.

  • Lead high-stakes negotiations to secure long-term contracts and partnerships.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring their satisfaction and fostering repeat business.

3. Market Expansion and Business Growth



  • Explore new business opportunities in construction markets.

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to refine sales strategies.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to build brand visibility and secure business leads.

4. Revenue and Profitability Optimization



  • Drive all revenue streams, including software subscriptions, marketplace transactions, and financing partnerships.

  • Implement pricing strategies and sales initiatives to maximize profitability.

  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to enhance client lifetime value.

5. Sales Data Analysis and Reporting



  • Use CRM tools to track pipeline activity and ensure accurate sales forecasts.

  • Analyze sales data and metrics to evaluate team performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on sales performance and market trends.

6. Team Collaboration and Mentorship



  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and customer success teams to optimize sales strategies.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior sales team members, fostering a high-performance sales culture.

  • Contribute insights to the product roadmap based on customer feedback and market demands.





Requirements

Educational Background



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) is highly desirable.

Experience



  • 6–10 years of proven experience in sales, preferably in the construction, procurement, or technology industries.

  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.

  • Extensive experience managing key accounts and negotiating high-value contracts.

Industry Knowledge



  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, construction project lifecycles, and tendering systems.

  • Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and technology solutions is highly advantageous.

Certifications (Optional)



  • Sales certifications such as Certified Professional Sales Person (CPSP) or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and procurement tools (e.g., SAP, Procore).
