Senior Technical Product Manager, Payments

Duplo is a Lagos-based fintech startup that enables businesses in Africa to digitize their receivables and payables, reduce time-to-cash, lower transaction costs, and generate more revenue from their business customers.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager, Payments you will play a pivotal role in bridging technical capabilities with business needs. You will be responsible for defining product requirements, collaborating with engineering teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact payment solutions. You will work cross-functionally to ensure DuploPay’s offerings remain best-in-class in an evolving fintech landscape.


Responsibilities:

• Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define, refine, and execute the product roadmap, aligning with business objectives and technical feasibility.


• Technical Leadership: Work closely with engineering teams to translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions.


• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams—including Engineering, Compliance, Sales, and Customer Success—to ensure seamless product development and deployment.


• Data-Driven Decision Making: Use metrics, customer feedback, and market research to prioritize product features and improvements.


• Agile Execution: Lead agile processes, manage sprints, and ensure timely delivery of features with a focus on quality and security.


• API & Integration Strategy: Drive innovation in API design and third-party integrations to enhance platform capabilities.


• Regulatory & Compliance Alignment: Ensure product solutions meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices in fintech and payments.

Technical and Professional Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in technical product management, preferably in global payments


• Strong technical acumen, with the ability to engage with engineers on architecture, APIs, and system design.


• Proven track record of launching and scaling global payment solutions or financial products.


• Experience working with APIs, cloud-based architectures, microservices, and security best practices.


• Expertise in Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies for product development.


• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset.


• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams and leadership levels.


• Experience with regulatory compliance in payments (PCI DSS, PSD2, AML/KYC) is a plus.
