Job Description - Site supervisor / foreman

Summary

This position involves overseeing and directing daily on-site construction operations to ensure projects are executed efficiently and in accordance with established plans. The role is critical for maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity while effectively managing personnel and resources throughout the construction lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Direct and organize daily construction tasks within the site environment.
Assign duties to employees, skilled tradespeople, and external subcontractors.
Verify that all construction activities align with provided blueprints, technical specifications, and project timelines.
Evaluate the quality of workmanship, materials, and overall construction standards.
Uphold all health and safety protocols alongside site-specific regulations.
Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to facilitate coordination.
Document daily progress and communicate site updates to senior management.
Detect and address challenges or issues arising during the construction process.
Ensure tools and equipment are utilized correctly, stored properly, and maintained regularly.
Oversee material and resource usage to reduce waste and prevent project delays.
Perform site inspections to confirm that finished work adheres to required quality benchmarks.

Requirements

Requirements:

Proven ability to supervise and coordinate construction teams and subcontractors.
Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
Experience in monitoring workmanship and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in a construction setting.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with various stakeholders including engineers and architects.
Capability to track project progress and report accurately to management.
Problem-solving skills to resolve on-site challenges promptly.
Competence in managing tools, equipment, and materials to optimize resource usage.
Attention to detail in conducting thorough site inspections.
