Job Description - Staff Nurse

Staff Nurse 

Location: Arugo Estate, Imo State
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: 24-Hour Shift (Rotational)
Industry: Healthcare / Pharmacy
Experience Level: 2 – 4 Years
Salary Range: ₦70,000 – ₦80,000 Monthly

Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Staff Nurses to provide high-quality nursing care within a community healthcare/pharmacy setting. The ideal candidates will support clinical services, assist in patient care delivery, monitor health conditions, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Care & Clinical Support

  • Provide basic nursing care, including wound dressing, injections, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Assist in administering prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the supervising healthcare professional.
  • Support minor clinical procedures and health assessments.

2. Patient Education & Support

  • Educate patients on medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and preventive healthcare.
  • Provide guidance on managing chronic conditions (e.g., hypertension, diabetes).
  • Ensure a compassionate and patient-centered care experience.

3. Clinical Operations

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Assist in triaging patients and managing patient flow.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of medical equipment.

4. Infection Control & Safety

  • Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the clinical environment.
  • Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and sharps.

5. Compliance & Professional Standards

  • Ensure adherence to all healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
  • Work in compliance with guidelines from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in continuous learning and professional development.

  • Patient Care Quality: 90% satisfaction rating
  • Medication Administration Accuracy: 100% compliance
  • Patient Waiting Time: Within acceptable limits
  • Documentation Accuracy: 98%
  • Infection Control Compliance: 100% adherence

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) / Registered Midwife (RM) or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid practicing license with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
  • 2 – 4 years' clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, or community healthcare setting.
  • Strong clinical and patient care skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle shift duties.
