You will be responsible for leading the implementation, maintenance, support, development, and, in some cases, the design of communication networks within an organization or between organizations.
Your primary goal is to ensure the integrity and high availability of the network infrastructure to deliver optimal performance for users, including staff, clients, customers, and suppliers.
You will lead a team responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, and highly available network architectures that align with business objectives and service level agreements (SLAs).
Design and configure routing and switching infrastructure.
Design and implement voice services (IP-based and traditional; on-premise and hosted solutions).
Design and deploy telepresence, contact center, multimedia, and collaborative solutions.
Design and configure wireless and enterprise mobility solutions.
Design and implement network, systems, and application monitoring solutions.
Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers.
Perform remote troubleshooting and fault resolution for network and system issues.
Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 support, including incident diagnosis and resolution.
Liaise with project management teams and third-line engineers to ensure effective service delivery.
Engage with customers via email and phone to capture initial technical requirements.
Configure and install network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and QoS configurations.
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including patches, service packs, hotfixes, and security configurations.
Monitor network performance to ensure availability, reliability, and optimal service delivery.
Monitor system resource utilization and support capacity planning and performance trending.
Design and establish networking environments, including system configurations, installation oversight, documentation, and enforcement of standards.
Design and implement new solutions while improving resilience of existing infrastructure.
Optimize network performance through continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and collaboration with network architects.
Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through training, professional reading, networking, and industry engagement.
Report on network operational status by gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing information and managing assigned projects.
Deliver Proof of Concepts (PoCs), product demonstrations, and technical presentations.
Support technical qualification of sales opportunities and solution alignment with customer requirements.
Collaborate with sales, service, engineering, and technical support teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer needs and are validated by technical stakeholders.
Provide technical responses for Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP).
Support the Head of Department in preparing and implementing annual work and resource plans aligned with business strategy.
Identify opportunities to leverage IT solutions to address complex business, organizational, and technical challenges.
Provide network security expertise and contribute to the design and development of security solutions.
Implement access control mechanisms and participate in security incident management, vulnerability assessments, and security testing, providing corrective recommendations.
Ensure availability, performance, and security of network services in line with agreed SLAs.
Develop and enforce procedures and standards for network and security operations.
Plan, monitor, and control projects using PMBOK or PRINCE2 methodologies.
