Job title: Warehouse Technician (Rent-a-Rig)
Reports to: Senior Warehouse Technician (Rent-a-Rig)
Grade level: Management Trainee
Job Summary:
• Work closely with the technical experts to ensure equipment are well maintained, properly used for rigging onsite, correctly stored, and, kept in good condition for long-lasting use to maximise ROI for Rent-A-Rig.
• Routinely perform checks on equipment before and after rental and perform minor electrical repairs when necessary.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the warehouse including receiving, inspecting, and storing all warehouse stock.
• Ensure equipment is carefully stored and organised in the warehouse and that the warehouse is efficiently maintained.
• Preserve a tidy, safe (health and safety complaint), and efficient working environment.
• Ensure warehouse and job preparation paperwork is accurately completed, processed, and stored.
• Fulfil orders for supplies and equipment rentals as approved.
• Issue supplies and equipment according to the supervisor’s approval.
• Ensure proper labelling of the stock for easy retrieval.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures relating to the allocation, use, return, and replacement of the equipment.
• Clean equipment to render them ready for hire.
• Occasional delivery, collection, and returns of equipment to events and sub-hire clients.
• Load and off-load equipment from delivery trucks for rental or for company use.
• Prepare and de-rig kit, pre- and post- event/use.
• Pre-program/set up equipment for projects on-site.
• Perform minor repairs on electrical and/or equipment.
• Ensure all equipment is tested and checked upon return.
• Ensure that every piece of equipment taken out is returned, checked for condition, and stored in the appropriate location and position.
• Take periodic inventories.
• Maintain all documents and files using the organisation’s central filing system with a strict compliance of the documentation policy.
• Undertaking any necessary duties to ensure a first-class service is always provided.
• To be an ambassador for the business at all times.
Qualifications, Competency & Skills Required:
• Qualification in Level N4 – N6 Diploma Electronics Educational and Vocational Training.
• Competent user of contemporary inventory management software and Microsoft Office user, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Competent Internet, Email and Google applications user.
• Good knowledge of cable sorting and rigging.
• On-site experience as a crew or a technician.
• Experience in electronics, electrical diagnostic, and repair.
• Knowledge of event production equipment and technology.
• Sound knowledge of the rental/hire sector of technical equipment in Nigeria.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to administer both internal and external correspondence.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Project management, analytical/problem solving, and negotiation skills.
• Keenly interested in the rental/hire, event production technical support, experiential and entertainment industries in Nigeria.
Location:
• Lagos, Nigeria; including other locations as required.
Office Hours:
• 08.00 to 17.00 Mondays to Fridays.
