Well Engineer, Material Planning & Forecasting

Co-ordination of all Company's well construction materials – the planning, tracking and forecasting to ensure seamless continuity and achieve business objectives across the Assets.

Key accountabilities

Maintain compliance with Company's HSE Management System. Ensure safety and environmental performance are given priority during all associated activities.

Translate Company’s long term and near-term Wells Delivery Plan (i.e. Rig Sequence & Rigless Activities Plan) into a Materials Forecasting Plan. Coordinate the timely procurement of appropriate specifications of materials and equipment for respective well projects.

• Contribute to pre-planning (forecasting materials availability and needs) for upcoming jobs ensuring that all opportunities are maximized
• Work with Well Designer/Planner and Materials Officer to optimize operations by ensuring the full technical specifications of items to be ordered are adequately captured to enable efficient mobilization and demobilization of materials and equipment.

Track the inventory of materials and ensure timely replenishment of needed items as required, ensuring contingency provision is always made.

• Visit warehouses and equipment storage locations to perform confirmatory checks of inventory and conditions of equipment.
• Document material inventory levels by recording units delivered, consumed and backloaded.
• Coordinate with the Offshore Material Office, Logistics Coordinator, and Drilling Supervisor for the timely arrival of drilling equipment and services to the wellsite
• Monitor daily progress of well operations and keep track of equipment usage to enhance inventory updates.

Well Cost Recovery

Support functional presentations at SUBCOM meetings, including annual well budget and performance sessions to secure JV approvals.

• A degree qualification in engineering or physical sciences discipline
• Excellent technical and communication skills.
• A minimum of 5 years’ industry experience with an Operating Company with relevant experience of managing well construction materials.
• Working knowledge of different specifications of well materials, such as OCTG, wellhead, casing accessories, and completion accessories.
• Working knowledge of drilling and completions design and operations.

• Project management skills.

• Ability to translate strategies into business objectives and to establish priorities.
• Support process improvements in tracking cost, scheduling and well construction.
• Good analytical, communication and writing skills, with PC Microsoft Office Suite fluency and familiarity with drilling engineering software.
• Excellent proficiency in English language, both in speech and in writing
• Ability to generate good quality technical reports
• Good level of independent thinking and reasoning, based on sound technical fundamentals.
