Job Description - Relationship Officer

Job Summary

We seek a driven and experienced Senior Banking Officer to join our team. This role focuses on building and nurturing relationships with clients specifically for our HIFA Savings Product , driving its sustainable growth through targeted sales and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will leverage their industry expertise and relationship-building skills to achieve and exceed sales targets while ensuring a seamless experience for all HIFA customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for HIFA savings, consistently exceeding set targets.
  • Understand the sales target for HIFA savings and work towards achieving it in record time consistently.
  • Develop and maintain business contacts with existing and prospective customers to grow the revenue and customer base for the bank's retail banking product called HIFA, as well as other products and services.
  • Proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, tailoring solutions to meet individual customer needs.
  • Follow up on prospective sales opportunities from discussions with existing and prospective HIFA customers to ensure conversion of new or repeat business.
  • Continuously engage the market to acquire new retail banking customers by building and nurturing business relationships based on trust, empathy, credibility, and ethical.
  • Embark on daily customer engagements via in-person visits, telephone calls and emails to generate more business and grow the customer base for HIFA savings.
  • Liaise with the banking services team to ensure proper and timely onboarding for new customers on the HIFA platform.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • Minimum – Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or any closely related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of Retail Banking experience with a strong sales track record within a Nigerian Commercial Bank
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Senior Banking Officer in a Nigerian Commercial Bank.
  • Proven experience in generating and managing client portfolios valued at N600M and above.
  • Must have a current portfolio of transferable customers to HIFA savings.

Additional Considerations :

  • Experience with the High Yield Savings product is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
