Reports To - Finance Manager

Job Summary
The Finance Intern will provide administrative and financial support to the Finance Department while gaining practical experience in financial reporting, treasury management, budgeting, reconciliations, and accounting operations within a loans and investment company. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a solid understanding of financial management, regulatory compliance, and the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
* Support the processing and recording of financial transactions.
* Assist with bank, customer, and ledger reconciliations.
* Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
* Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
* Assist in monitoring loan disbursements and investment-related financial transactions.
* Help reconcile customer repayments with the company's accounting records.
* Assist in preparing journals and updating the general ledger.
* Support budget preparation and expense tracking.
* Assist with statutory remittances and regulatory reporting where applicable.
* Prepare schedules and supporting documents for internal and external audits.
* Maintain proper filing of financial documents and records.
* Conduct basic financial analysis and prepare reports as assigned.
* Support the Finance team with data entry and financial system updates.
* Perform other finance and administrative duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
* Must be a recent graduate with 0-2 years of experience.
* Professional qualifications such as ICAN ATS, ACA (in view), ACCA (in view), or equivalent are an added advantage.
