HSDF works with the Federal and State Governments to improve the effectiveness of health service delivery to strengthen the performance of health systems and ensure a focus on results and outcomes.
JOB SUMMARY
We are recruiting passionate and motivated interns to support the Programs Team in Kaduna. The interns will gain exposure to multiple roles and workstreams within the organization and will assist in implementing program activities and deliverables. This role includes analyzing primary and secondary data, preparing PowerPoint presentations, and drafting reports and other knowledge products. This paid internship is ideal for budding professionals with a strong interest in public health, health systems strengthening, and evidence-driven program implementation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder Management
- Support stakeholder engagement activities, including coordination and follow-up tracking.
- Assist in preparing briefing materials and follow-up notes for partner engagements.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and document key discussions and action points.
Data Analytics
- Support data collection, collation, cleaning, and analysis.
- Conduct desk reviews and synthesize findings into structured outputs.
- Transform data into clear presentations and reports for decision-making.
Project/Program Execution
- Support day-to-day program implementation and execution activities.
- Support the preparation of high-quality reports, presentations, and analytical outputs.
- Draft detailed meeting notes and documentation, action trackers, and engagement summaries and follow-up action on activities.
- Assists in tracking multiple project deliverables and reporting timelines across workstreams.
- Assists in drafting conference abstracts, posters, and manuscripts (where applicable).
- Assists the team in providing technical and analytical support toward the attainment of program/project goals and objectives under supervision.
- Supports activities aimed at developing and strengthening the capacity of public sector entities.
- Keeps abreast of program-specific trends and emerging practices and shares relevant insights with the team
- Undertakes other tasks as assigned by supervisor(s).
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To perform this role successfully, the candidate should demonstrate the following qualifications, knowledge, and skills:
- A minimum of a B.Sc. in Public Health, Health Economics, Social Sciences, Statistics, Pharmacy, Data Science, or a related field (Recent graduates and NYSC Corp members serving in Kaduna are encouraged to apply).
- Demonstrated interest in health systems strengthening, public sector reform, and/or development programming.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Foundational knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis, with the ability to interpret findings and draw logical conclusions.
- Analytical thinking skills with the ability to integrate information from multiple sources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel); ability to develop structured presentations and well-formatted reports.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while managing assigned tasks independently.
