Job Description:
Lafarge Africa is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Associate to join our team in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable processes and ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices.
Responsibilities: - Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and payment requests - Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner - Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions - Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments - Assist with month-end closing processes and financial reporting - Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues - Follow internal control procedures and accounting policies to ensure compliance with regulations - Assist with ad hoc financial projects as needed
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or related role - Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software - Resilient and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment - Passion for accuracy and attention to detail - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Critical thinking abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving
