Our department, Material Technology in Trondheim , is now looking for Welding Engineers to be a part of our team to strengthen tomorrows industry and future growth.

What will you be doing?

• Quality assurance of welding activities according to NS-EN ISO 3834-2 for contracts, Aker Solutions workshops, suppliers and offshore installation.
• Evaluate/ investigate and give corrective action for all non-conformances related to welding.
• Be a part of evaluation, qualification, inquires, auditing and follow-up of suppliers related to NS-EN ISO 3834-2.
• Review of WPS / WPQR and welders qualifications both for prefabrication and offshore installation.
• Plan, coordinate and specify welders, procedures and welding related equipment for offshore installation.
• Offshore installation welding follow-up, register all manual weld logs into production software.
• Coordinate welding inspection activities.
• Continuous follow up the construction work regarding prefabrication and installation, including review/approval of all weld work packages for prefabrication and installation.
• Be actively involved in the design phase in order to ensure fabrication friendly solutions, use of automated welding processes and that weld requirements are incorporated.
• Ensure that all prefabrication and installation is performed according to Aker Solutions Quality Assurance procedures for the welding activity.

We think you should have:

• Relevant Bachelor or Masters degree.
• International Welding Engineer (IWE)
• Welding Inspector diploma (IWI-S) or alternative qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in oil & gas.
• Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education.
• Experience and understanding of multi-discipline tasks (process, piping, mechanical, instrument and structure).
• Ability to work independently.
• Good communicative skills in Norwegian and English, oral and written.
