Deutsche Rentenversicherung Rheinland is an institution of the statutory pension insurance in Germany. For our IT service provider Deutsche Rentenversicherung NOW IT GmbH, we are looking in the business area Application Development for the Competence Center (KC) Development Core Systems 4 at the Düsseldorf site for the next possible date a

Application Developer Java (f/m/d).

In the KC Development Core Systems 4, the conception and (further) development of Java software systems in the area of document and workflow management for the German Pension Insurance as well as for the customers/customers of NOW IT GmbH is carried out, among other things.

The jobholder (f/m/d) is responsible for the maintenance, modification and adaptation of Java in-house developments with the following subtasks:

• Design, development and documentation of complex software systems based on Java.
• Development of technical concepts and architectures based on current Java technologies and their implementation.
• Analysis of business and / or technical requirements
• Design and implementation of (automated) software tests

Furthermore, you preferably bring the following expertise with you:

• Sound knowledge in the development of Java-based client-server solutions as well as corresponding frameworks; experience in object-oriented software engineering.
• Knowledge of architectural concepts, frameworks and design patterns and their implementation in programming, as well as basic knowledge of UML.
• Expertise in XML and web technologies (e.g. REST, SOAP, JSON).
• Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git and change management systems such as Jira.
• Knowledge of relational database systems (Oracle, DB2) and sound SQL skills.
• Knowledge in building CI/CD pipelines is an advantage, for example through knowledge in the use of tools such as Jenkins.

On personal requirements, you bring a high degree of customer and service orientation. Furthermore, we expect conceptual and analytical skills and an independent way of working. Flexibility and the ability to work under pressure are among your strengths, as is a high level of commitment. Continuous training and independent familiarization with new topics are expected, as is the willingness to travel on business.
