The BiPRO e.V. (Industry Institute for Process Optimization) is a neutral organization of the insurance or financial services industry, in which insurance companies, sales partners and service providers have joined forces to optimize cross-company business processes. Professional and technical standards are developed jointly in projects. We are Germany's leading institute for standardization in the insurance industry. Currently, we have over 300 well-known association members and a steady expanding development for about 17 years.

DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

Your tasks

• The ops in you will provide a stable, highly available, performant and secure system in admin style and will take care of debugging as well as troubleshooting, will install regular updates and will not miss any anomaly in the overall system through clean monitoring
• Your dev-mind creates scripts and tools for agile development. As part of the development and implementation of applications, software components and interfaces to databases or other applications, you of course also operate requirements management and estimate efforts.
• Automation is high on your to-do list as a DevOps Engineer. For example, you program scripts to automate e.g. monitoring, code analysis or build and release processes along a CI/CD pipeline. Tools like Git, Docker or Jenkins run at full speed for you, ideally in a cleverly linked toolchain.
• As a DevOps engineer, you also automate what the plate gives for testing. So you bring fine unit, integration, system and performance tests to the table, which you design, execute and monitor in the team.
• Using tools like Git, GitLab as well as Nexus, you manage the code in versions like all devs, making it easy to review and restore.
• Last but not least, documentation in the wiki is one of your tasks. So you keep the knowledge in a central place where everyone can access it. Also by giving training or coaching on DevOps topics, you can carry the torch - and leave your fingerprint!
• You'll be a key contributor to the advancement and deployment of development-related infrastructure components and self-services in the BiPRO community.

Your qualification

• Successfully completed studies with a focus on mathematics / computer science / software development / information technology or a comparable education with relevant work experience.
• Proven experience in Unix/Linux and shell programming.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Docker technologies and concepts.
• Knowledge of typical open source components, ideally Nginx, Apache, Tomcat, Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, Git, OpenAPI 3.0, and virtualization technologies (proxmox)
• Knowledge of continuous delivery/integration or continuous testing.
• Ideally experience in the design and architecture of RESTful services / API
• Teamwork and communication skills to collaborate in the office with members of the working groups and projects.
• a high degree of independence, resilience and quality awareness
