We are specialists in managing large projects from feasibility studies and conceptual engineering, through FEED and detailed engineering.

Engineering is executing major projects across the globe in both oil and gas and renewables sectors. This includes Norway’s ground-breaking Brevik carbon capture project, as well as delivering engineering and design for Northern Lights, the world’s first CO? storage facility on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Furthermore, we are investigating the design and delivery of future hydrogen and ammonia projects. As part of a strategic alliance, we are also working on a large digitalization project as part of the development of the Hugin oil and gas field offshore Norway, whilst pioneering new digital solutions to make operations safer and more efficient.

Our Technical and Safety Analysis team in Fornebu is now looking for a Risk Analysis Engineer.

What will you be doing?

• Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies. Type of studies and topics include:

Fire and explosions.
Gas dispersion and accumulation (flammable, toxic, engine exhaust).
Helideck availability to assess turbulence and hot air exposure of helideck.
Natural ventilation, wind chill temperature or pressure distribution at HVAC air intakes and outlets.
Fire & Gas detector optimization.
Process design and optimization.

• Perform Quantitative Risk Analyses (QRA) on onshore process facilities, or follow-up third party risk analysis performed for offshore O&G installations.
• Support Aker Solutions projects working as an integrated member of a multi-disciplinary team, and work on studies performed directly for the client.
• Contribute to innovation and development activities.
• Work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment
• Work on studies and projects across in all project phases, from Feasibility/Concept to Detail Engineering and Operation/Modification.
• Work with Carbon Capture Storage and Utilization (CCUS), hydrogen, ammonia, low-carbon O&G, offshore wind, synthetic fuel production, and more

We think you should have:

• Master’s degree (or higher) within engineering, physics and similar, with subjects related to one or more of the following fields: fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, process design, risk analysis and risk management, or physics.
• 3-5 years (or more) relevant experience with CFD studies or risk analysis. Graduates will also be considered.
• Experience with technologies and processes related to CCUS, ammonia, hydrogen or synthetic fuels.
• A will and ability to learn new skills and to share from your knowledge and experience.
• An analytical mindset and ability to translate customer challenges into solutions.
• Ability to work structured, maintain strong work ethics and be a positive contribution to our office environment.
• Good understanding of regulatory requirements and relevant standards, including PTIL, DSB or UK HSE is an advantage.
• Experience with CFD and risk analysis tools, such as in: Flux, FLACS, EFFECTS and Star-CCM+
• Project management skills and experience with basic programming / scripting in Python, VBA, Power BI or similar is an advantage.
• Fluent in English, both written and oral. Norwegian/Scandinavian language is an advantage.
