What will I be doing?

The purpose of this position is threefold:

· To assist in understanding the needs of Computershare’s business and technology stakeholders related to financial reporting and define the changes required to deliver solutions that address these needs.

· To test that the changes delivered meets the requirements of the stakeholders.

· To ensure quality of our delivery by managing and improving our regression tests.

You will work as part of a product-focused, cross-functional delivery team where you will build open and trusted relationships with your team and stakeholders.

A significant part of the role is quality assurance of the financial reporting services, hereunder provide testing leadership and guidance within a collaborative agile team. To this end you will enable and coach the team to confidently measure, deliver and improve quality in delivering products.

You will take an active part in delivering team commitments and initiate and drive continuous improvement across the wider team.

Main Duties:

Include, but not limited to:

  • Find innovative ways to solve problems and shape the delivery by using agile practices to stay responsive to business needs.
  • Develop domain expertise within your business line and associated systems.
  • Solicit feedback in order to understand requirements and draw out implied requirements and non-functional requirements
  • Translate requirements into clearly defined test scenarios in order to support development.
  • Provide continued feedback on product quality to the team and stakeholders to enable them to make informed decisions.
  • Ensure that the software meets expected behaviour and explore for additional risks.
  • Ensure adequate test coverage of our regression tests to reduce likelihood of quality degradation.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to: share knowledge and ideas; provide updates; influence; challenge; and take on feedback.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven ability to successfully gather requirements and get results with minimal supervision.
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders to elicit requirements, use of system design concepts, propose solutions and translate these for other members of the development team.
  • Excellent logical and research skills with the ability to collect and evaluate complex material and data, and present it in accessible formats.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Self-motivated and can use own initiative to recommend innovative solutions.
  • Pays attention to detail, finds root cause and takes a rigorous approach to problem solving.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience of working in a development environment, ideally within an enterprise context.
  • Experience of using test design techniques and of performing and applying risk analysis to identify test types and test coverage.
  • Be a curious, observant and an intuitive explorer who is capable of the setup, execution and checking of test scenarios against the system-under-test.
  • Experience of contributing to the automation test approach, understanding return on investment and automation coverage, designing tests and identifying scenarios.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and financial reporting.
  • Exposure to Financial systems.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Computing, Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with geographically distributed teams.
