Assignment Description

Are you an experienced Automation Engineer with strong PLC programming skills looking for a permanent opportunity in a traditional onshore industrial environment? This role offers the opportunity to work with industrial automation systems, programming, troubleshooting, and supporting PLC-based solutions while becoming a long-term part of the local community in Hønefoss.

The client is looking for a Norwegian-speaking engineer who is willing to relocate permanently to Hønefoss. This is not a commuting role; they are looking for someone who wants to become part of the local team and community.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and maintain PLC-based automation systems.

• Troubleshoot and resolve faults in industrial automation systems.

• Support commissioning, testing, and optimization of automation solutions.

• Work with HMI and industrial control systems where required.

• Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to ensure reliable operation.

• Maintain technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure automation systems are operating safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience with PLC programming.

• Experience working with industrial automation and control systems.

• Knowledge of HMI, industrial communication networks, and commissioning is an advantage.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Fluent Norwegian (spoken and written).

• Fluent English.

• Willingness to relocate permanently to Hønefoss (commuting is not suitable).
