Business & Technology Development Manager (m/f/d)

About the Role

NOV is creating this new strategic position to strengthen our direct engagement with selected European oil & gas operators. While our commercial teams work closely with drilling contractors, this role focuses on building long-term relationships with the operators who ultimately influence technology selection and investment decisions.

As Business & Technology Development Manager, you will become NOV's primary commercial and technology representative for selected operator accounts. Your focus will be understanding customer strategies, identifying emerging challenges, and connecting operators with the right expertise and technologies from across NOV's extensive portfolio.

Success in this role requires the ability to combine technical understanding with commercial insight, building trusted relationships that create long-term business opportunities rather than transactional sales.

• Develop and execute business development strategies for selected European operators. 
• Build and strengthen long-term relationships with key customer stakeholders. 
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across NOV's technology portfolio. 
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management to accommodate and support the organization to deliver customer-faced solution.

• Promote innovative technologies and support their commercialization. 
• Monitor market trends, customer priorities, and competitive activity. 
• Represent NOV at customer meetings, technical forums, and industry events. 
• Support pipeline development, opportunity reviews, and strategic growth initiatives. 

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. 
• 8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within the oil & gas industry. 
• Strong understanding of offshore drilling operations and technologies. 
• Proven ability to build trusted customer relationships and identify business opportunities. 
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. 
• Fluent in English. 
• Willingness to travel within Europe. 
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with European oil & gas operators. 
• Knowledge of NOV products and drilling technologies. 
• Experience introducing new technologies or digital solutions. 
• Norwegian language skills.
