Purpose


The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading and scaling Maritech’s engineering organization. This role ensures that teams deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable technology solutions aligned with business strategy. The Director of Engineering fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence, while developing strong engineering leaders and building a world-class technology organization.


 


Primary Activities



  • Lead and scale the engineering organization to meet current and future business needs.

  • Translate the company’s technology strategy into actionable engineering execution.

  • Establish and maintain best practices in software development, architecture, quality, and security.

  • Partner with Product leadership to align engineering priorities with customer and business outcomes.

  • Build, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering teams and leaders.

  • Drive operational excellence, including delivery predictability, performance, and cost efficiency.

  • Represent Engineering in executive discussions and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability.

Experience and Competence Requirements



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles.

  • Demonstrated success in scaling engineering organizations and managing multiple teams.

  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture.

  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, high-quality technology solutions.
