Job Summary:
The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical systems,
components, and equipment installed or fabricated for Oil & Gas projects meet the
required engineering standards, codes, and client specifications. This role involves
hands-on inspection activities across all project phases, from fabrication and
installation to pre-commissioning and final acceptance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform inspection of mechanical systems, equipment, piping, and structural
components in accordance with applicable standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
• Monitor and verify installation and fabrication activities on pressure vessels,
piping systems, tanks, rotating and static equipment.
• Conduct dimensional checks, welding inspections, hydrostatic and pneumatic
tests.
• Review and verify compliance of materials, certificates, and documentation (e.g.,
MTCs, test reports).
• Supervise and verify equipment alignment, torqueing, and preservation
procedures.
• Witness FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests), SATs (Site Acceptance Tests), and
performance tests for mechanical equipment.
• Participate in punch list walkdowns and ensure the timely resolution of non[1]conformities.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and QA/QC teams to ensure project
quality requirements are met.
• Ensure all inspections and testing are documented accurately and in compliance
with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
• Prepare daily/weekly inspection reports and maintain inspection records.
• Support audits, client inspections, and third-party verification when required.
Preferred Certifications:
• CSWIP / AWS / API 570 / API 510 / ISO 9712 (NDT levels)
• HSE Certifications (e.g., BOSIET, H2S, etc.)
