Job Description - Manufacturing Operations & Test Engineer

 


We're looking for a driven Manufacturing Operations & Test Engineer to play a crucial role in optimizing our manufacturing processes and test strategies, ensuring efficiency, quality, and scalability.


 


As the Manufacturing Operations & Test Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and our manufacturing partners, to bring new products to market and continuously improve existing ones.  This role offers a blend of hands-on problem-solving and strategic planning, giving you the chance to shape the future of our manufacturing operations and test methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing test tools and processes for new and existing products.

  • Optimize production workflows and test processes to minimize costs, improve yield, and increase throughput

  • Define, implement and continuously improve test cases to maximize test coverage while minimizing test time

  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing yields, creating detailed reports and dashboards to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement

  • Manage maintenance plans for all physical test jigs and test systems on-site at our manufacturing partners, ensuring optimal performance and reliability

  • Collaborate with R&D and our manufacturing partners on design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and design for testability.

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing and **test documentation together with manufacturing partner, including process specifications, rework instructions, and test plans.

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and test failures, implementing corrective actions

  • Evaluate and select new manufacturing and test equipment and technologies.

  • Manage and coordinate with external manufacturing partners to ensure effective product testing and efficient production.



Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or manufacturing test engineering role (or a combined role).

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including assembly, testing, and quality control.

  • Comfortable with reviewing schematics and PCB layouts with a “design for testability” perspective

  • Able to write and optimize test cases (preference in Python) in an established test framework

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Able to travel internationally to manufacturing partners 1-2 times per year.

  • Fluency in English is a requirement.
