Job Description - Marine Systems Sales Engineer - Norway

## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nAs a Marine Systems Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in strengthening Eaton\u2019s position in the Norwegian marine market. You will act as the primary technical contact for our marine customers while supporting internal stakeholders across sales, engineering, and project teams. Your mission is to anticipate customer and sales team needs, solve engineering challenges proactively, and ensure a seamless transition from design to delivery.\n\nIn this role, you will collaborate on technical specifications for marine projects, prepare proposals and presentations, support customer meetings, and resolve engineering issues related to low- and medium-voltage systems used in marine vessels, offshore platforms, and other specialized maritime infrastructure. The main products are Power Xpert UX medium voltage switchgear and xEnergy Main / Elite low voltage system.\n\nA core priority of this position is the design and specification of Eaton\u2019s low\u2011 and medium\u2011voltage system solutions for large and technically demanding marine applications, such as:\n\n * Commercial ships\n * Cruise vessels\n * Offshore oil \u0026 gas platforms\n * Offshore wind and energy installations\n * Advanced maritime and port infrastructure\n\n\n\nYou will tailor system solutions to meet strict technical standards, ensure reliability and safety, and support successful integration of electrical systems into complex marine environments.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nTechnical \u0026 Sales Support\n\n * Qualify leads, develop opportunities, and prepare technical concepts and proposals\n * Support customer meetings, discovery sessions, and technical reviews\n * Collaborate on marine project specifications and resolve engineering issues\n * Transfer technical concepts to engineering teams and support bid/no\u2011bid decisions\n * Troubleshoot low- and medium\u2011voltage marine system challenges\n\n\n\nCustomer \u0026 Market Engagement\n\n * Manage territory planning with a focus on Norway\u2019s marine sector\n * Build and maintain relationships with key customers and specifying entities\n * Conduct regular customer check-ins, business reviews, and follow\u2011ups\n * Represent Eaton at marine industry events and networks\n\n\n\n### \n\nInternal Collaboration \u0026 Process\n\n * Coordinate with sales, engineering, and operational stakeholders\n * Manage the pipeline, opportunities, and quotations\n * Handle administrative tasks and documentation\n * Drive continuous improvement and contribute to standardized specification processes\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\n * Professional Technician, Bachelor\u2019s, or Master\u2019s degree in Electrical Engineering or a justifiable equivalent education\n * 2\u20135 years of experience in marine projects, preferably in electrical design or project management for large-scale marine applications or equivalent relevant experience\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n * Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills\n * Analytical thinking, numerical proficiency, and structured problem-solving\n * Proactive, accountable, and results-oriented mindset\n * Ability to handle objections, complaints, and customer challenges professionally\n * Adaptability, resilience, and effective time management\n * Strategic thinking and ethical decision-making\n * Self-discipline for remote work and ability to prioritize independently\n * Comfort with digital tools and a continuous learning mindset\n\n\n
