Job Description - Product Manager Chemicals - Cleaning

Join our global team for a career filled with opportunities to solve challenges both small and large, local and global, simple and complex.

Join Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) as Product Manager Chemicals - Cleaning

Location: Lysaker, Piraeus, Rotterdam, Singapore, Hamburg  | Type: Full-time, Hybrid

Are you passionate about turning customer needs into innovative product solutions? Do you enjoy working at the intersection of technology, operations, and commercial strategy in a truly global environment?

At Wilhelmsen Ships Service, we’re looking for a Product Manager Chemicals to take ownership of a key product portfolio and help shape the future of our cleaning solutions across the maritime industry.

About the role:

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and evolving our global cleaning product portfolio — from identifying market needs to launching new products and improving existing ones.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across sales, operations, procurement, and technical teams, as well as external suppliers, to ensure our products remain competitive, compliant, and valuable to our customers worldwide.

You’ll also play a key role in tracking industry trends and regulations, helping us stay ahead in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment.

What you’ll be doing

As Product Manager, you will:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of our cleaning product portfolio — from developing new products to improving, updating, and phasing out existing ones

  • Identify market needs and turn them into innovative products, services, and digital solutions

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, working on product development while collaborating with procurement on commercial aspects

  • Shape and maintain a strong product pipeline by spotting future opportunities and trends

  • Support sales, customer service, and operations teams with clear and practical training materials

  • Monitor the market, including competitors, trends, and pricing, to help grow and protect our position

  • Work closely with teams across the business, including technical, commercial, and digital, to improve performance and customer experience

  • Represent Wilhelmsen at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings

  • Stay up to date on relevant regulations and ensure our products remain compliant and competitive

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who combines commercial awareness with technical understanding and enjoys working in a collaborative, international environment.

  • A degree in engineering, technical studies, business, or similar (relevant experience can compensate for formal education)

  • Experience in product management (maritime experience is a plus, but not required)

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • A proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to take ownership

  • The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player

  • Good analytical skills and the ability to use data to support decisions

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

Why join us?

  • Work with a global leader in maritime services

  • Be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking environment

  • Influence the development of products used worldwide

  • Opportunity to grow and shape your role as the business evolves
