Role Overview

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to strengthen quality assurance activities at our Haugesund manufacturing site. The role is key to ensuring compliant manufacturing and product release operations in accordance with ICH Q7, IPEC-PQG GMP Guidelines, and FSSC 22000.

You will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Control, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across site operations.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with ICH Q7, IPEC-PQG GMP Guidelines, and FSSC 22000 for all relevant manufacturing and release activities.

• Act as the Quality representative for shop-floor manufacturing, providing day-to-day GMP support.

• Support and/or perform batch record review and product release activities in accordance with approved procedures.

• Ensure effective implementation of global quality standards and policies at site level.

Manufacturing & Operational Quality Support

• Provide quality oversight of manufacturing operations, including handling of deviations and GMP-related issues in real time.

• Review and approve manufacturing documentation (SOPs, work instructions, batch records).

• Participate in change control, risk assessments, and process improvement activities impacting product quality.

Deviation Management, CAPA & Continuous Improvement

• Lead or support investigations related to deviations, non-conformances, and complaints, using structured root cause analysis.

• Define, implement, and follow up Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to ensure sustainable solutions.

• Perform gap analyses and quality risk assessments to identify improvement opportunities.

Audits & Inspections

• Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits and inspections, including preparation and follow-up activities.

• Conduct or support internal audits to ensure ongoing compliance and risk reduction.

• Ensure timely closure and effectiveness of audit actions.

Quality Systems & Training

• Support maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).

• Contribute to quality programs related to GMP, HACCP, and food/feed safety systems.

• Deliver or support quality and GMP training for site personnel to strengthen quality culture.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.

Technical & Regulatory Competencies

• Solid experience with and understanding of:

- ICH Q7

- IPEC-PQG GMP Guidelines

- FSSC 22000

• Experience in quality assurance within pharmaceutical, chemical, or food/feed ingredient manufacturing.

• Knowledge of deviation management, CAPA, risk management, and change control.

• Experience with electronic QMS tools and SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.

Professional Experience

• 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering / QP within a regulated manufacturing environment.

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and handle multiple priorities with precision.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Languages & Personal Skills

• Fluent Norwegian and English – both written and spoken (mandatory).

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.

• Structured, pragmatic, and hands-on approach with a strong quality mindset.

• Sikre etterlevelse av ICH Q7, IPEC-PQG GMP og FSSC 22000 i produksjon og frigivelsesprosesser.

• Være kvalitetsstøtte for produksjonslinjene, inkludert daglig GMP-oppfølging.

• Delta i og/eller utføre batchgjennomgang og produktfrigivelse i henhold til interne prosedyrer.

• Implementere og følge opp globale kvalitetskrav og retningslinjer lokalt på anlegget.

Kvalitetsstøtte til produksjon

• Gi operativ kvalitetsstøtte i produksjon, inkludert håndtering av avvik og GMP-relaterte problemstillinger.

• Gjennomgå og godkjenne produksjonsdokumentasjon, inkludert SOP-er, arbeidsinstrukser og batchprotokoller.

• Delta i endringskontroll, risikovurderinger og forbedringsprosjekter som påvirker kvaliteten.

Avvik, CAPA og kontinuerlig forbedring

• Lede eller støtte undersøkelser av avvik, non-conformities og reklamasjoner, inkludert rotårsaksanalyse.

• Definere, implementere og følge opp korrigerende og forebyggende tiltak (CAPA).

• Gjennomføre gap-analyser og risikovurderinger for å identifisere forbedringsmuligheter.

Revisjoner og inspeksjoner

• Delta i interne, kunde- og myndighetsrevisjoner, inkludert forberedelse og oppfølging.

• Gjennomføre eller støtte interne revisjoner for å redusere kvalitets- og matsikkerhetsrisiko.

• Sikre effektiv lukking og verifisering av revisjonsfunn.

Kvalitetssystemer og opplæring

• Bidra til vedlikehold og videreutvikling av kvalitetsstyringssystemet (QMS).

• Støtte kvalitetsprogrammer innen GMP, HACCP og mat/fôr-sikkerhet.

• Gjennomføre eller støtte GMP- og kvalitetsopplæring for ansatte.

Kvalifikasjoner

Utdanning

• Bachelor eller Master innen ingeniørfag, kjemi, farmasi, livsvitenskap eller tilsvarende.

Faglig kompetanse

• God kunnskap om:

- ICH Q7

- IPEC-PQG GMP

- FSSC 22000

• Erfaring fra kvalitetsarbeid i farmasøytisk, kjemisk eller næringsmiddel-/fôringrediensindustri.

• Kjennskap til avvikshåndtering, CAPA, risikostyring og endringskontroll.

• Erfaring med SAP eller elektroniske kvalitetssystemer er en fordel.

Erfaring

• Minimum 5 års relevant erfaring innen kvalitetssikring i regulert industri.

• Evne til å arbeide selvstendig, strukturert og nøyaktig.

Språk og personlige egenskaper

• Flytende norsk og engelsk, skriftlig og muntlig (obligatorisk).

• Gode samarbeidsevner og sterk kommunikasjon på tvers av fagmiljøer.

• Praktisk, løsningsorientert og kvalitetsbevisst.
