Job Description - Sales and Tender Manager


STSC (Submarine Telecom and Specialty Cables) is a leading global cable provider in the telecom and energy market. Self-produced hybrid and special cables are supplied in several different segments: ROV umbilicals/ tethers, control umbilicals, medium voltage power cables, permanent reservoir monitoring systems, deep seabed mining umbilicals, un-repeatered and repeatered cables in telecom. Customer groups are the telecom industry and the energy / renewable industry.


 


Sales and Tender Manager – Submarine Telecom and Special Cables


 


The Sales and Marketing department is organized with Sales and Tender Managers who are responsible for dedicated sales and tender tasks in various product areas. Close cooperation with other departments – technical, project, finance, legal, procurement and manufacturing - is required.


 


The position will report to the Sales and Marketing Director.

Responsibilities and tasks



  • The advertised position will have its main area of responsibility in sales and tender work towards the Americas, Middle East and Africa for the following products:

    • Telecom cables

    • Electro-optic control umbilicals and power umbilicals

    • MV power cables



  • Build sales pipeline through active promotion to dedicated customers and partners.

  • Develop good relationships with customers and carry out early-phase positioning work

  • Key account responsibilities of different customers. Create key account plans and strategies to increase collaboration and contract signing.

  • Participation in trade fairs and promotional work. Develop marketing material.

  • Lead the tender process in accordance with Nexans guidelines. Ensure that offers are developed in accordance with applicable procedures. Ensure that contributions from other departments arrive on time and at the right quality. Prepare the cost base in the offer and ensure that risks are understood and addressed

  • Issue tenders and follow-up of customers after offers have been sent

  • Head negotiations to secure contracts


 


Professional qualifications



  • 5 years of relevant experience from sales and tendering work. Bachelor's or higher education. A background in the telecom or energy industry is preferred

  • Fluent English skills - written and spoken. Used to be working with English as a working language

  • Strong networker and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Used to working with other cultures

  • Good negotiations skills and good understanding of contracts

  • Good expertise in general IT tools (Office programs). Used to operate CRM tools (Customer Relationship Management) and building cost base for offers

  • Ability to work systematically and co-operate across a multi-discipline organization

  • Team player

  • High sense of quality and on-time performance

  • Experience from large organizations – approval processes and handling of interfaces with other disciplines – Legal etc.

  • Willing to travel globally
