Job Description - IT Plant Infrastructure Engineer

The position By joining our team in Technology, Digital & Innovation you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts and technical leads to deliver relevant Plant IT Infrastructure (PITI) services.
  • Contribute to describing IT/OT infrastructure requirement to projects.
  • Advice and review project’s IT/OT design and deliveries.
  • Identify and contribute to closing technical uncertainties.
  • Contribute to “design to cost” specification of IT/OT infrastructure.
  • Assist with cyber security risk assessments.
  • Establish best practices and templates for PITI deliveries.
  • Stay updated on technology trends and provide input to PITI services roadmap.
  • Plan, execute and follow up PITI deliveries.

As a part of the Information Security Centre, the Plant IT Infrastructure team delivers Equinor’s secure remote access solution and services within technical networks on plants worldwide. Our teams deliver new installations, maintain and operate, upgrade, and participate in modifications as needed by the plant. We also develop new solutions based on business needs, e.g.within the renewable area. The infrastructure solution includes a wide range of technologies within hypervisor/virtualization, network and firewall.

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science or related field. Experience may compensate for formal education.
  • Good understanding of security in IT/OT infrastructure design.
  • Strong communication skills and strong relationship building capabilities.
  • Techno-functional mindset, with a curiosity and interest in technology trends and the wider business.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and work independently as well as follow team principles.
  • Understanding of project development and follow-up processes would be advantageous.
  • Working proficiency in English.
