Clinical Pharmacist - Office Based


Location: Any of our WellSouth Offices (Dunedin, Invercargill, Alexandra, Wanaka)


Fixed term for 11 months


FTE: 0.8

POSITION PURPOSE 


This is a dedicated clinician to help Primary Care Providers who do not have a practice-based pharmacist. Activities include participation in inter-disciplinary team meetings, support with medication related quality improvement activities and to provide educational materials and support.  In addition, this pharmacist also provides in house support to fellow WellSouth Clinicians and input into WellSouth Programmes. 


  


The pharmacist will work with primary care teams to provide clinical guidance, assistance and support around medications, with a focus on reducing inequities and working with priority populations. 



To be successful in this role, you will:



  • Have a Bachelor of Pharmacy (NZ), or equivalent. 

  • Post-graduate Clinical Pharmacy qualification. 

  • Registered as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand holding a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC) with no restrictions. 

  • Awareness and understanding of the implications of the Treaty of Waitangi to WellSouth as a public health organisation. 

  • At least 5 years’ post-registration experience. 

  • Current Driver’s Licence. 

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical services. 

  • Ability to identify trends in individual patient data, including appropriate application of equity focused approaches to guide best practice prescribing. 

  • Effective interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team.
