Junior Product Developer

About the Role

This is a newly created role within our Marketing team supporting the Head of Innovation and wider Innovation team. Based at our office in Paengaroa, sitting on a 6-month fixed-term contract this is an exciting role to develop your experience within product development of food and Natural Health products. 

What is involved

We are looking for someone who can deliver new product development of new product formulations, packaging formats and specification changes. Working closely with Innovation, Marketing, Sales, Regulatory and Quality teams to ensure products are developed or modified with alignment with strategy, and compliant with Market regulations. 

A typical day could look like the below;

• Support the Innovation team with project management oversight for active projects.


• Support development of new product formats, formulations, packaging and specifications that meet market brief.


• Ensure project teams are briefed, deliverables are clear, timelines, key milestones, risks and expectations are effectively managed and maintained.


• Explore new formats and ingredients to enhance consumer experience and sustainability of products. 


• Seek out and report on new technologies, relevant product delivery systems and industry advances.


• Support transition of new products through product launch to ‘business as usual’. 

What you bring

• Tertiary qualification in Food Science, or related science qualification. 


• Knowledge of compliance related programmes, BRCGS, RMP, TGA/Medsafe, ISO22000, etc. 


• Knowledge of Formulation and Product Development in a Food, Dietary Supplements or Pharmaceuticals environment.  


• Understanding of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to Food and Dietary Supplements.


• Passion for Sustainability and Environmental stewardship.  


• Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, MS Teams.
