As the kaitiaki of 25 plus facilities in Tauranga Moana, plus two Western BOP Pools, we proudly offer a range of activities and experiences intended to put a smile on the dial of our community.

We’re on the lookout for energetic, team-oriented individuals to join our part-time, fixed term Lifeguard crew at Tauranga Memorial Park Pool. About the Role:

We have exciting part-time, fixed-term opportunities for Lifeguards at Tauranga Memorial Pool.

As a valued member of our aquatics team, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for our community. You’ll actively supervise pool areas, engage with customers, and promote positive pool behaviour. Your attention to detail and strong work ethic will help keep our facilities clean, safe, and running smoothly. You’ll also support with tasks like water quality checks and reception duties, all while working alongside a passionate, supportive team.

 As a Shift Leader, you’ll lead the lifeguard team, ensure compliance with safety protocols, oversee daily operations, mentor and train staff, manage cash handling procedures, and promote our pool services and programs.

This role offers the chance to gain valuable, transferable qualifications and make a real difference in your community—while having fun doing it!

About You:

To be successful in this position you must:

• Be able to swim 200m in 6 minutes or less


• Te Puke applicants be able to touch the bottom of 4m Dive Pool


• Have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time


• Be a committed team player, who is able to act in a proactive manner


• Have the ability to retain professional demeanour, think clearly and remain calm during an emergency


• Be passionate about swimming and what the pools have to offer


• Have (or could obtain) a First Aid Certificate


• Having a valid Pool Lifeguard Practicing (PLPC) Certificate is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided.

Previous experience in lifeguarding is not necessary as full training can be provided. You would need to be available to attend 3 full days of training plus hold or obtain a current first aid certificate.
