About the Role As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of complex, high-impact projects across web and mobile. RUSH is a service-based provider; you will work across diverse client projects and tech stacks, balancing technical excellence with delivery speed while owning testing, performance, security, and observability. You will report to the Software Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering: Implement business logic, domain/data models, and UIs while meeting architectural, business, and operational requirements.


• Quality & Documentation: Write high-quality code with automated testing, performance monitoring, and comprehensive technical documentation.


• Leadership: Mentor junior/intermediate developers; provide feedback via design reviews, code reviews, pairing, and swarming.


• Strategy & Alignment: Align implementations with the strategic roadmap, manage technical debt proactively, and ensure deep understanding of the application portfolio.


• Agile Collaboration: Work from an agile backlog (user stories, defects, improvements); participate in refinement, grooming, spikes, and PoCs.


• DevOps & Support: Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD automation; perform application analysis to troubleshoot production issues; participate in an on-call roster.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a software-related subject.


• 7+ years of professional programming experience across enterprise, mid-sized, startup, or consulting settings.


• Ability to apply industry trends and best practices to methodologies.


• Strong focus on maintainability, scalability, and "easy develop-ability."

Technical 'Must-Haves'

• Expertise in .NET Core (C#), Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks.


• Strong experience with AWS/Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.


• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation.


• Solid testing practices (backend and frontend).


• Based in Christchurch.

Preferred Skills

• Microservices, event-driven architecture, and observability tools.


• Security-first mindset, performance tuning, and networking/reliability fundamentals.
