Village Assistant - Fixed term

We are looking for an exceptional Village Assistant to join our team at our Whangarei Village until September 2025. 

In this role, you will ensure the safety and security of the village and be ready to respond to any medical or emergency incidents that may arise.

You will be responsible for being the first point of contact for all Village related matters whilst on duty and more importantly providing a visible, reassuring presence overnight and ensuring our residents feel safe and supported while the village sleeps. In addition, you will support the Village Manager in carrying out a range of task around the village including but not limited to administration support and cleaning/housekeeping. 

The hours for this role are:

• Monday and Tuesday 4:30pm - 11:30pm 
• Wednesday to Friday 11:30pm - 7:30am

You’ll be someone who brings a calm, confident presence to the role—comfortable working alone overnight, capable of thinking on your feet, and able to make sound decisions under pressure without hesitation. The role would suit someone who has been a security guard or similar.

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Confident working independently and making quick, effective decisions when needed
• A strong communicator who remains calm and composed in high-pressure or emergency situations
• Naturally responsible, dependable, and highly observant, with great attention to detail
• Able to build rapport and trust with residents
• Has a current First aid certificate and full drivers license
