Te Tūranga/About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant and working alongside the Finance team, the Management Accountant is pivotal to ensure that our financial reports are accurate and reliable.  The main focus for this role specifically is within the Gross Margin function, which includes reconciling between our systems, reporting actual results and forecasting/budgeting the expected results moving forward. 

Te Mahi /Key Responsibilities:

• Management Reporting:
  • Assist the Finance Manager in fortnightly gross margin reporting by providing analysis into gross margin movements
  • Determine key risk areas for focus and communicate this with the Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller with recommendations for providing for the risk/exposure
• Analysis and insight
  • Utilise BI tools and Excel to analyse variances 
  • Provide timely and insightful variance analysis and commentary around key movements that enables decision making
• Budget and forecast modelling:
  • Own the 5th Quarter (non-red meat) section of the model including reviewing outputs, commenting on variance to actuals and prior budgets and forecasts, and also developing business understanding of the drivers of performance

You will be a management accounting professional who is confident and experienced enough to step up and apply your expertise in a unique and growing area. You will ideally have proven experience working in a complex, enterprise environment.  Naturally, you will be consultative, approachable with the ability to quickly build rapport with people.

Additionally, you will bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualification with a CA designation
• Strong excel skills with competency using pivot tables
• Management accounting experience at a corporate level would be advantageous
• Navision/D365 software experience would be advantageous
• An understanding of our business, or of a similar primary industry would be advantageous
