Accountant - Work from home

New York Life Insurance is seeking a motivated and reliable Accountant to join our team in Napier, Hawke's Bay, NZ. This is a full-time, work-from-home position at the Associate Level, with at least 4 years of experience in accounting.

Responsibilities: 1. Prepare financial statements and reports for management review 2. Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data 3. Analyze financial information and identify trends and discrepancies 4. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes 5. Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process 6. Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations 7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions 8. Provide support to other departments on financial matters 9. Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed

Requirements: 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 2. CPA or CA certification preferred 3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices 4. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel 5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 6. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines 7. Adaptability to changing work environments 8. Emotional intelligence to handle challenging situations 9. Experience in the insurance industry is a plus
