We provide maintenance services for green spaces like reserves, walkways, sand dunes, playgrounds, and much more. In addition to that we maintain Tauranga City Council managed facilities and buildings. Our team is focused on providing an efficient and quality service, our purpose is to make Tauranga better. Te Turanga | About the role We are currently on the lookout for an Asset Condition Assessor to periodically assess TCC's physical assets to determine their condition, any required maintenance and life span. Understanding our assets conditions accurately is critical to be able to forecast budgets that will be needed to keep our assets functioning and most importantly safe. This role will be 95% field based and stand alone. The Assessor needs to have a very broad knowledge base in building inspections and remedial works to be able to efficiently assess such a large asset group. TCC has approximately 420 buildings that need to be systematically reviewed so this is a busy role. Please note the hours of this role are 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, you will need to be a little flexible as to not impact current tenants you may need to attend sites before or after normal office hours. Nga Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed in this team * 5 -10 years relevant experience in Building or Asset inspection. * A relevant trade certificate or qualification in the above fields. * Ability to self-motivate and work alone. You'll need to be well organised and have great time management skills. * Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to learn new computer software and systems. * Honesty and integrity (this is critical). * A track record of being reliable and confident working alone yet also happy to collaborate as a team to get the job done. * A positive attitude and a willingness to listen and learn. * The ability to deliver a high quality of work and take real pride in what you do. * A full clean drivers licence. * The ability to follow and implement Health and Safety guidelines. * Have great communication and customer service skills - you'll need to be comfortable being an Ambassador for TCC and answering the communities enquires while out on the job Te Tukanga | How to apply If you wish to apply, please click 'Apply' at the bottom of this page and follow the link.
