Whitcoulls is an iconic New Zealand brand with a long history of selling an exciting range of products from books to stationery to games and toys. We currently have an opportunity for a Category / Buyer's Assistant to join our Fashion Stationery and Gift Buying team.

This is a fantastic entry level role where you can really kick start your career in retail buying.

The role:

The category assistant works as part of the Buying team to source product from around the world and is in involved in a wide variety of tasks, including:

• General administration and data integrity
• Category reporting and analysis
• Stock management
• Working with vendors
• Collaborating with the marketing team on campaigns, photo shoots and social media
• Involvement in product research and development
• Store support

This is a varied and fast paced role, where no two days will be the same.

Skills and experience:

• University qualification
• Strong customer service skills
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
• Strong time management
• Excellent numeric and communication skills
• A positive attitude and relationship builder
