As a Crane Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the cargo flowing and connecting Hawke’s Bay with the world.

The Crane-Services Team provide technical services and support to our mobile harbour crane fleet. This fleet is critical, front line equipment and a key contributor to our operational success. We’re looking for a Crane Technician with an electro-mechanical focus and who has a broad range of experience across industry.

About you:

• You will be proficient with complex electrical and or mechanical systems, preferably within an industrial or heavy plant environment.
• Experience with industrial PLCs is valuable.
• Experience with digitally controlled electrohydraulic or hydromechanical systems 
• Ideally, you’ll be a registered electrician or hold heavy engineering qualifications
• Your background may be within the automotive industry or a similar discipline 
• Be a positive member to the team and be an excellent communicator.
• As a self-starter, you’ll actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

• Timely and accurate acquittal of day to day maintenance activities.
• Responsiveness to crane breakdowns/failures.
• Support maintenance of mobile plant as required.
• Form key relationships with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive team culture that prioritises health and safety.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working at heights and will be available to work an on-call roster which may include weekend and public holiday work.
