Engineering hand - heavy

We are looking for dedicated Engineering Leading Hand to assist the Engineering Foreman in the leadership of the team and to continue the high level of craftsmanship in everything that leaves our Tamahere workshop. At Regal we pride ourselves on providing bespoke solutions in transport, bulk storage and blending equipment. You will need to interpret engineering drawings and follow welding and fabrication standards & procedures. Through innovation and quality tradesmanship we have some of the lightest and best-looking trucks and trailers in New Zealand. Working hours are Monday to Friday: 7am – 5pm. Saturday’s are rostered: 7am – 12pm and 1 week on call, once every 2 months. We’re looking for someone with: • Proven competence in heavy fabrication and welding in heavy transport or similar industry • Minimum 5 years of experience, trade certificate • Competence in MIG all positional welding: aluminium and/or mild- high- tensile steels • High standards of workmanship in both manufacturing and repair • Ability to meet and exceed standard build and/or repair times • Accurate recording of inventory used and time sheets • Ability to safely operate and timely maintain all workshop equipment, tooling and machinery • Ability to adhere to both company and customer Health and Safety requirements, including pre-employment D&A tests. You will be expected to: • Create a positive work culture where staff are engaged and to drive a safe working environment within the workshop. • Meet high quality standards and pride in your workmanship is important to you. • Your record keeping of inventory and timesheets is accurate and you prioritise and work independently to agreed timelines. • You are known for your leadership skills, flexible work attitude, and professionalism.
